SculpturE

This body of work evolved after I received a diagnosis of breast cancer. Due to changing physical limitations, I had to change the way I was working and the materials I was using. These pieces are made by twining cotton. Many of the works have red, blue, or yellow white heart trade beads woven into the structure.

Living cancer free, when I look back now I can see that creating the work helped me heal and find a new vision for a good life.

Some see reclining and embracing forms. Some see waves. Others see various biomorphic shapes, like sea creatures, birds of happiness, and human figures.

The work evolved from reclining to standing to hanging on the wall.
